ASHANTI UNITY

About Ashanti Card

It began as ASHANTIS AND BONO CLUB (ABC). A fun club with its office at Techiman, Ghana. The ABC had its maiden launch on December 2004 at the Techiman High School, after letters of existence were sent to then Bono Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs in Sunyani and the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. The members of the Club first paid a visit to the Techiman palace and presented the club aims and objectives to the Chief and elders of the “Akan Piesie, Bono Kyempem Duaduakwa” Palace, where the club was received with great joy, advice and support from the Chief and Elders. After decades of advocacy for tribal unity and reconciliation for peaceful Ghana, the club has been expanded to include all the African tribes and people of African descents, regardless of their nationality, color, religion or geographical location. The Ashanti Unity For African Tribes, also known as AU, had its name from the ASHANTI KINGDOM which is known for being a symbol of unity among various tribes in the world, and also having held its supreme culture, power and influence globally with the GOLDEN STOOL as the symbol of unity given by their prophet and founder, OKOMFO ANOKYE. AU therefore takes its inspiration from OKOMFO ANOKYE’s divine wisdom to create a united kingdom which has stood the test of time against colonial and political powers efforts to disintegrate them. AU for this reason borrows from the OKOMFO ANOKYE’s principle of unity and advocates for unity among the African Tribes and all people of African Descent for a developed and peaceful Africa.
